Get Rid of Those Ads in uTorrent

Acquisitions don’t seem to find “happy” endings these days, like a possible sale of Linksys where Cisco picked up in  2003 (looks like Belkin is the new "owner" now). On a smaller scale where BitTorrent bought uTorrent and a recent update included some rather obtrusive advertisements or featured items.

So here’s how to turn them off:

Go to "Options > Preferences > Advanced"

Do a quick filter and turn all these settings to false:

• offers.left_rail_offer_enabled/left_rail_offer
• offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled/sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled
• offers.content_offer_autoexec
• bt.enable_pulse
• gui.show_notorrents_node
• gui.show_plus_upsell
